A number of Liverpool supporters have been reacting to claims that the Reds are on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Ibrahima Konate.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to bring in at least one new centre-back this summer, having been dealt such a tough hand in that position this season. The German has to make do without Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez for the majority of the campaign, with Joel Matip also joining them on the sidelines.

It meant Liverpool have understandably looked more shaky in defence at times, with midfielder Fabinho and Jordan Henderson having to fill in there, as well as Ozan Kabak and Nathaniel Phillips forging an unlikely pairing.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Liverpool have agreed a five-year deal for Konate, costing the Reds approximately £35m.

The Frenchman has earned glowing admiration with his performances for RB Leipzig, and at 21, he is viewed as a centre-back with massive long-term potential.

Na sequência, o Flamengo manda dois jogos seguidos no Maracanã, contra Coritiba e Santos. Na 15ªposição, o Coxa está ameaçado pelo rebaixamento. A luta para fugir da zona perigosa pode complicar o jogo, mas a tendência é que o Fla não tenha dificuldades. O que não se pode dizer da partida contra o Peixe, que está em terceiro lugar, também brigando pelo título. A equipedo técnico Dorival Júnior é forte e vai dar trabalho ao Flamengo.

Na última rodada o Rubro-Negro pega o time muito competitivo do Atlético-PR, que briga por uma vaga na Libertadores, na Arena da Baixada. Para vencer lá, o Flamengo terá que se superar.

بدأ الأهلي اليوم تحضيراته لمواجهة الهلال السوداني المقرر لها يوم الجمعة المقبل، في إطار منافسات الجولة الثانية للمجموعة الأولى بدور المجموعات بدوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وكان قد تم تأجيل مباراة الأهلي والمريخ في الجولة الأولى من دور المجموعات بعدما كان من المقرر أن تقام أحد يومي 11 و12 فبراير، وذلك بسبب مشاركة المارد الأحمر في مونديال الأندية.

وأدى الأهلي مرانه على ملعب التتش الذي اشتمل على فقرة تدريبات إحماء تحت قيادة كابيللو مخطط الأحمال، ثم أجرى الجهاز الفني تقسيمة الكرة.

وشارك علي معلول الظهير الأيسر للمارد الأحمر في مران الفريق الذي أقيم عصر اليوم على ملعب التتش، استعدادًا لمواجهة الهلال.

وواصل بيرسي تاو لاعب الفريق، تنفيذ برنامجه التأهيلي على هامش المران، حيث قام بالركض حول الملعب، وتنفيذ بعض الفقرات ضمن البرنامج التأهيلي الذي يقوم بتنفيذه، للعودة إلى المشاركة في المران الجماعي بعد تعافيه بشكل تام من إصابة العضلة الأمامية.

وسبق أن أكد الدكتور أحمد أبو عبلة طبيب الفريق، أن بيرسي تاو سوف ينتظم في التدريبات الجماعية عقب مباراة الهلال السوداني.

أعلن المدرب الإيطالي، سيموني إنزاجي، المدير الفني لنادي إنتر ميلان، تشكيل فريقه الرسمي ضد ليفربول بدوري أبطال أوروبا.

According to the Daily Mail, Daniel Levy’s top two choices to replace Jose Mourinho were RB Leipzig boss Julian Naglesmann and Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers.

The former has now been confirmed as Bayern Munich’s next manager, taking over from Hansi Flick in the summer, and the latter has played down his chances of swapping the Midlands for north London – even despite reports suggesting Spurs would hand him a contract worth in excess of £15m-per-year.

After the Foxes’ win over Crystal Palace in midweek, Rodgers revealed:

“I’m at a world-class training facility, the project we’re in here, we still want to develop, we still have a lot of work to do here. I have a great connection with the players and the board, and we have plans to keep progressing

“While I have that energy and the happiness and I see that challenge continue here, I am very happy to be here. You can’t stop gossip, and you can’t stop speculation. I don’t think about it.”

Hammer blow

Levy will surely be gutted that two of his preferred targets have been crossed off the list, especially as he’s reportedly wanting to make a quick appointment in order to avoid a drawn-out process that hinders the new man’s preparation ahead of next season.

Spurs undoubtedly need to bounce back, having endured a nightmare campaign.

They crashed out of the FA Cup and Europa League early, lost yet another final – being defeated by Man City in the Carabao Cup – and are facing a fight to make the top four, and possibly the top six. It’s that competitive.

Rangers have been linked with a move for Heerenveen midfielder Joey Veerman recently, and if he were to make the move to Ibrox this summer, he could prove to be the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Davis in Steven Gerrard’s side.

What’s the word?

According to Dutch news outlet Voetbal, Rangers are one of the foreign clubs taking an interest in the 22-year-old, who has enjoyed another excellent season in the Eredivisie.

Reims, PSV Eindhoven and Atalanta are also said to be interested in the young midfielder, who seems likely to depart the Abe Lenstra Stadium despite signing a new contract last summer.

Rangers’ dream Davis heir?

Whilst Steven Davis recently penned a new one-year contract at Rangers after playing a significant part in their title win this season, the Northern Ireland international will turn 37 next year and Gerrard’s side should start planning for a future without the influential midfielder.

The former Southampton man has averaged a solid 6.99 WhoScored rating for his performances in the Premiership this season, although he is not as much of a threat in front of goal as he once was, as he has been unable to find the back of the net in any of his 30 league appearances this term.

In that sense, Veerman could be the ideal man to replace him, as he has shown in the last two seasons that he can add a goalscoring threat from midfield. That is something Rangers have arguably lacked at times this season, with Glen Kamara having managed just one goal and one assist so far in this Premiership campaign.

Veerman, on the other hands, has seven goals and nine assists to his name in the Dutch top flight so far this season, which has helped him to accrue to a superb 7.47 WhoScored average rating. That is comfortably the best of any Heerenveen player, which suggests that they could face a real struggle to keep hold of him this summer.

Former Rangers striker Michael Mols was full of praise for the young midfielder recently, saying: “He is perfect with the ball and in possession, he’s a really great player. His passing and movement with the ball is really relaxed in a good way.”

Therefore, it seems as if the £6.3m-rated Veerman would be a superb addition at Ibrox and he could even be the man to succeed Davis in Gerrard’s side, should Ross Wilson seal his transfer this summer.
