According to a report by Calciomercato.it, via City Xtra, the Sky Blues and sporting director Txiki Begiristain are in ‘pole position’ to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Nuno Mendes despite interest from AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli – prompting many supporters to buzz at this news.

Mendes has been a regular in defence for the Portuguese giants this season, starting 19 Liga NOS matches and managing an impressive 1.6 tackles and 2.3 interceptions per 90 (WhoScored).

Indeed, the promising 18-year-old has intercepted more passes than any City player on average this season, including current first choice left-back options Oleksandr Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo, leaving little wonder why one Sky Blue believes he could be a ‘fantastic signing’.

Flocking to this claim on Mendes, who could well become a part of City’s stellar Portuguese contingent, many supporters buzzed at this claim that Begiristain and Pep Guardiola are leading the race.

Apesar do jejum de vitórias do Corinthians e da saída do G4 do Brasileirão na última rodada, Marquinhos Gabriel tem sido um dos destaques da passagem o técnico Cristóvão Borges pelo clube. Nos 11 jogos desde a saída de Tite, o meio-campista já até mudou de função, mas soma dois gols e duas assistências. No geral, em sua passagem pelo Timão, ele tem cinco gols e três passes decisivos.

Mesmo com os bons números apresentados, Marquinhos Gabriel não está satisfeito com seu rendimento e deseja evolução. Questionado se seu futebol já era equivalente ao desempenhado pelo Santos no ano passado, o jogador foi sincero, mas não se aprofundou.

-Não. Ainda não. Mas a gente vai tentar evoluir a cada jogo, a cada partida, a cada treinamento, para que as coisas venham a acontecer aqui também.Tem um monte de fatores (que explicam a queda), e não vou individualizar agora, mas sei que tenho que melhorar e estou fazendo isso – relatou Marquinhos Gabriel, que espera paciência da torcida contra o Vitória, na próxima segunda-feira, pela 21ª rodada do Brasileirão.

-A gente precisa do torcedor, todos sabem que somos mais fortes quando eles estão do lado. Se a gente não fizer gol até 20 minutos sabe que vai ter uma chiadeira, fazemos isso fora de casa, e as outras equipes utilizam isso. Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, ex-Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has urged his former club to move for Fulham star Ademola Lookman in the summer.

Fulham have found a bit of form of late, managing to beat Liverpool earlier this month, but the Premier League outfit remain in relegation trouble. Undoubtedly, there is a good chance that they could go down this season, meaning some players may want to depart Craven Cottage before the start of the 2021/22 campaign.

And if Lookman, who is currently on loan from RB Leipzig, is not keen on extending his stay at the west London club, Hendrie believes the Villans need to do whatever they can to bring the 23-year-old to Villa Park.

Speaking about Lookman in an exclusive interview with FFC, Hendrie said:

“Lookman stands out for me. He’d be one that I would… I know bigger clubs would be looking at him, but he’d be the sort of calibre of player that I’d be looking at trying to get at the club because he’s creative and got that attacking threat.”

Discussing the former Everton man further, Hendrie added: “If I was involved in the club, at the minute, Lookman’s top of my list.”

Lookman has come up with some big contributions for Fulham this season as Scott Parker’s side continue to do all they can to try and avoid relegation back down to the Championship.

The English winger scored the winner in a 1-0 win against Sheffield United last month and delivered a couple of assists versus Tottenham and Liverpool prior, with both those games ending 1-1. As far as recruitment in the attacking areas go for Aston Villa, Lookman could definitely be a good option to explore.

عاد ميسي إلى معسكر الفريق الخميس الماضي، بعد عودته من الأرجنتين حيث أمضى موسم العطلات، لكنه أصيب بفيروس كورونا، ثم اضطر إلى انتظار اختبار سلبي للذهاب مع عائلته إلى فرنسا.

وسُئل ماوريسيو بوتشيتينو عن الحالة البدنية لميسي وقال ببساطة: “إنه تحت إشراف طبي هذا هو الشيء الوحيد الذي يمكن قوله”.

في ظل هذه الظروف فإن عودة ميسي للمنافسة يوم السبت ضد بريست في الدوري تبدو الآن غير مؤكدة بحسب صحيفة “لو باريزيان” الفرنسية، لحسن الحظ بالنسبة له ولحالته البدنية، تم تأجيل التدريب في قطر والمباراة الودية في الرياض المقرر إجراؤها الأسبوع المقبل.

A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting negatively to rumours linking them with a surprise move for Aaron Ramsey this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is sure to be looking at options to bring in at the end of the season, ensuring he keeps his squad fresh. Despite Liverpool’s struggles in 2020/21, however, they still have an excellent group of players and there aren’t a huge amount of tweaks required.

The injury-prone nature of both Joe Gomez and Joel Matip could lead to the Reds bringing in another centre-back, while Roberto Firmino’s continued struggles in front of goal means a new striker may potentially be eyed up.

Midfield is an area of the pitch where Liverpool appear to be well-stocked, however, with the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Thiago, Naby Keita, James Milner and Curtis Jones all vying for playing time.

Despite this, the Reds have been linked with a move for Juventus and Wales star Ramsey, with Calciomercato claiming they are one of the clubs eyeing him up.

Now 30, and not without injury problems of his own, it would certainly be a surprise if Liverpool made a move for the former Arsenal man, who has won seven trophies during his playing career.
