West Ham United are back on the road this Sunday as the Irons travel to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium looking to record back-to-back Premier League wins for only the second time in the past year.

The Irons opened their winning tally last weekend as David Moyes’ side shocked Wolverhampton Wanderers as they claimed a 4-0 win thanks to strikes from Jarrod Bowen, Sebastian Haller and an own goal by Raul Jimenez.

Hammers fans only witnessed successive top-flight wins on two occasions during the 2019/20 campaign, with Manuel Pellegrini orchestrating victories over Watford and Norwich City in August before Moyes managed wins over the Canaries and Hornets in July.

In Moyes’ search for his second double in his second spell as West Ham boss, the Scot will again be watching the action from home as he continues to follow all relevant guidelines in his recovery from a second positive coronavirus test.

Alan Irvine will take Moyes’ place in the Irons’ dugout against Leicester, and was able to confirm more encouraging news on Friday when he declared defender Issa Diop available for selection after returning to training following his positive test.

Diop’s return to the starting line-up could come as part of two possible changes to the team which beat Wolves last weekend. So, with alterations on the cards, here’s a West Ham XI we could see against Leicester…

Diop has been out of action for West Ham since the second week of Premier League action, having started in both defeats to Newcastle United and Arsenal before returning a positive test for covid-19.

But the Frenchman could be in line to return at Leicester following the form of teammate Fabian Balbuena against Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, when the £40,000-per-week Paraguayan gifted possession away on multiple occasions with poor errors he was lucky not to see punished. The 29-year-old also appeared frightened by Richarlison’s pace, which would be problematic against a confident Jamie Vardy after his five goals in three league games.

Outside of dropping Balbuena, Aaron Creswell and Angelo Ogbonna would be deserving of retaining their places in the core of West Ham’s backline after both displayed solid performances against Wolves while Creswell would also offer a threat from set-pieces.

Moyes and Irvine will not be able to name Ryan Fredericks at right-back, however, as Irvine has confirmed the former Fulham defender will miss the Foxes affair having picked up an injury in the Wolves rout.

In his place will likely step Ben Johnson, but the youngster will need support from Diop after struggling to contain Richarlison and Alex Iwobi during the midweek Carabao Cup clash.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will hold down the core midfield positions once more at the King Power Stadium after excellent displays against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, with Rice patrolling the centre of the field while Soucek’s bursts into the box led to a range of opportunities to score.

Faultless efforts by Pablo Fornals, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen will also ensure the trio return to lead the line against Leicester having been rested against Everton, with Bowen striving to build on his brace now that his duct is broken.

AND in other news, West Ham have been dealt a setback in the club’s efforts to land the missing spark of David Moyes’ midfield.

Patrocinadora da CBF há dez anos, Vivo diz que “repudia qualquer comportamento ilícito” mas não comenta sobre futuro da parceria.

A única empresa a comentar o novo escândalo na principal entidade do futebol brasileiro foi a Vivo, patrocinadora da CBF há dez anos. “A Vivo patrocina a Seleção Brasileira de Futebol porque acredita no poder do esporte como forma de conexão e repudia qualquer comportamento ilícito e/ou que não esteja adequado aos valores e princípios de atuação da empresa”, diz a nota enviada pela operadora.

Entretanto, a Vivo não respondeu se o “repúdio a comportamentos ilícitos” pode significar o rompimento da parceria já que a Justiça americana deu provas da existência de um esquema de corrupção envolvendo os principais dirigentes da entidade.

No total, a CBF conta com 14 empresas parceiras que renderam à entidade uma receita de R$ 359,4 milhões em 2014, segundo levantamento da consultoria BDO com base nos balanços da entidade. Ainda de acordo com o estudo, o faturamento com patrocínio da CBF aumentou 90% nos últimos cinco anos, sendo que o valor obtido em 2010 era de R$ 193,5 milhões.

Former Premier League striker Noel Whelan believes Aston Villa manager Dean Smith will find it tough to offload Anwar El Ghazi and Frederic Guilbert before the domestic transfer deadline passes.

Can Dean Smith find new clubs for the pair?

It was previously reported that both players have been told to look for new clubs as Villa seek to significantly reduce their wage bill.

The Midlands-based outfit have been busy this summer, spending a total of £74.12m (according to TransferMarkt) and bringing in a total of five players, including Ross Barkley on loan from Chelsea. This will have bumped up the cost of their wage bill, which Smith now must try and reduce before Friday’s deadline in order to balance the books.

El Ghazi has not featured for Villa since the final game of last season despite being a regular during the 2019/20 season and Guilbert has made just two outings this term, both of which have been in the Carabao Cup. As things stand, it’s difficult to see either having much of a part to play at Villa Park this season.

With this in mind, there is some doubt that Villa will be able to readily get rid of the pair. Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan was asked whether Smith will find it challenging to find suitable outfits for both players.

“They are indeed, absolutely,” he said. “Guilbert’s not been there that long so his contract’s probably got a couple of years left on it.

“I think for those sort of players if they’ve had the conversation with the manager, it’s about getting them out on loan.

“If it’s not going to be a permanent signing and they’re surplus to requirements at Aston Villa, which they will be now with the signings they’ve made, they’ve got to get out there and just try get them loaned out to some clubs and gets some wages off the bill.”

Dean Smith needs to get rid of unwanted deadwood

As we’ve seen so far this season, Villa are starting to go places despite barely retaining their Premier League status at the end of last term. The Villa Park faithful recently applauded the work that Smith has done since he arrived in the Midlands just over two years ago.

Currently second in the Premier League, Villa will likely look to shift some of the deadwood in their squad if they want to maintain their momentum.

However, Whelan is right. Finding clubs for fringe players like El Ghazi and Guilbert could be a tall order this week.

وأوضح يوفنتوس عبر موقعه الرسمي، أن رابيو أجرى اختبارًا ومسحة لفيروس كورونا، للتعرف على حالته.

وأفاد النادي الإيطالي أن المسحة جاءت سلبية، وبالتالي تعافي رابيو من فيروس كورونا وسيخرج من العزل.

وكان المنتخب الفرنسي، أعلن في 9 أكتوبر الجاري، غياب رابيو عن مباراة إسبانيا، في نهائي دوري الأمم الأوروبية، للإصابة بفيروس كورونا وخضوعه للعزل.

وفاز منتخب فرنسا بلقب دوري الأمم الأوروبية على حساب إسبانيا في وقت سابق من هذا الشهر.

يذكر أن يوفنتوس سيواجه إنتر ميلان في منافسات الدوري الإيطالي، يوم الأحد المقبل.

Ao que tudo indica, o Vasco pretende aproveitar mais a garotada da base no time profissional em 2016. Nos últimos meses, o goleiro Gabriel Félix, o meia Mateus Pet e o atacante Renato Kayser passaram a treinar com a equipe principal. Ano que vem, outros quatro serão observados e podem ser incorporados: o zagueiro Kadu Fernandes, o volante Andrey e os meias Evander e Matheus Índio. O defensor é o único que estoura idade da categoria sub-20. Assim, naturalmente vai integrar os profissionais.

Não está definido, entretanto, se Andrey (17 anos), Evander (17) e Matheus Índio (19) vão participar da pré-temporada ou disputar a Copa São Paulo em janeiro. Entre os que já subiram neste ano, Mateus Pet é o mais elogiado. Não estreou ainda por conta da pressão que envolve a equipe nesta reta final do Campeonato Brasileiro, mas nos treinamentos tem sido um dos destaques. Gabriel Félix, assim como Kadu Fernandes, estoura idade no ano que vem e, portanto, já subiu neste ano para ganhar experiência. Já Renato Kayser participou de três partidas, todas entrando no segundo tempo.

No Campeonato Sub-20 (antigo Brasileiro Sub-20), o técnico Rodney Gonçalves vai mesclar o time atual, que tem como principais nomes os meias Bruno Cosendey, Iago Índio e Matheus Índio, com destaques do time sub-17. O treinador manteve a cautela, mas demonstrou confiança na garotada.

– A subida de alguns provocou uma redução em nosso grupo. Por conta disso, estávamos aguardando a promoção dos atletas que foram campeões no sub-17. Vejo com bons olhos a chegada de todos, mas é preciso calma, até porque no sub-20 a coisa funciona de outra forma – disse ao site do Vasco.

Indeed, it just keeps getting better and better for the 23-year old, who capped up his first call-up to the senior England national team with a debut goal versus Ryan Giggs’ Wales side on Thursday.

The call-up was a testament to just how well Calvert-Lewin has started the 2020/21 term, and last month the striker scored no fewer than five goals in just three games in the top flight, as per Transfermarkt.

This included a hat-trick against Slaven Bilic’s West Brom, as Calvert-Lewin also managed to bag himself another hat-trick when he played West Ham United in a 4-1 win at Goodison Park in the Carabao Cup fourth round stage.
