Speaking in his pre-match press conference, he said: “I’ve not heard from him last night or this morning so it seems like they haven’t managed to agree anything. وأشار المدرب اليوناني إلى أنه ينظر إلى لاعبي بيراميدز على أنهم “جواهر ثمينة” عليهم العمل أكثر لتحقيق أحلامهم وأحلام النادي، وعلى ثقة كبيرة بأن الفريق سيكون أفضل بكثير في الفترة المقبلة، وعلى ثقة بأن بيراميدز ستكون بدايته بالفوز بلقب كأس مصر هذا الموسم، لأن الفريق بالفعل يستحق أن يحصد أول ألقابه.

Skriniar would seemingly bolster the United backline, he’s started 28 league games for a team with the best defensive record in a league famed for its defensive prowess, but is it worth sacrificing their top scorer for him when there could be a player just as good already on the books?

Of course, we’re talking about Chris Smalling.

The 30-year-old has seen a bit of a career resurgence over in Italy, and due to the fact he’s playing in the same league as Skriniar it’s very easy to compare the two.

The Englishman does make fewer tackles per game, but he trumps the Inter man when it comes to interceptions, clearances, catching people offside, making blocks and being dribbled past.

In fact, the 31-cap ace is dribbled past six-times more often than Smalling, and in a league where most teams have incredibly pacy attackers, that could be very costly if United want to bring him in.

Signing defenders from Serie A is always going to be fashionable due to the reputation that league has, but United’s loanee has shown he can hang with the best of them in Italy, and he has more than earnt his chance at another shot at Old Trafford, especially when one of the alternatives is swapping Martial for a defender who has been statistically outperformed by Smalling this term.

Acabou o sofrimento do Avaí. Após sete derrotas seguidas, na lanterna do Campeonato Catarinense e entrando na penúltima rodada do returno sob o risco de rebaixamento, o time avaiano, nesta segunda-feira, na Ressacada, obteve importantíssima vitória por 1 a 0 sobre um rival direto pela degola, o Guarani de Palhoça. O gol foi de Yuri, no primeiro tempo. Com isso, o Avaí chegou aos 20 pontos e não corre mais risco de queda para a Segunda Divisão. Afinal, resta apenas uma rodada e Guarani (14 pontos) e Camboriú (15 pontos, após empate com o Figueirense) não podem mais alcançá-lo.

O Avaí, jogando em casa, partiu para cima com tudo nos primeiros minutos, perdendo duas ótimas chances. Aos 12 minutos,chegou ao gol quando William escorou cruzamento da direita e Yuri entrou livre só para concluir para as redes. Depois, o Avaí parou e sofreu pressão do Guarani. Na etapa final, depois de um bom inicio nos primeiros dez minutos, o Avaí foi muito mal, sendo pressionado pelo Guarani. No fim, ficou o alívio da torcida pela salvação, mas ela não perdoou o time e vaiou muito os jogadores.

Na coletiva, o treinador Silas disse que o torcedor teve todo o direito de cobrar bons resultados e disse que as vaias foram justas.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has given his views on Willian’s future as the Brazilian’s contract is ending with Chelsea at the end of the season.

Bent told talkSPORT that “Spurs would be in for him with the whole Mourinho factor, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal were interested, they want all of Chelsea’s leftovers – this is one I’d actually take, though!”

The former England international went on to talk about Arsenal’s front line, with the likes of Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe, in addition to promising youngsters; Nketiah, Saka and Martinelli. He feels like Willian may stunt the growth of youth players and may have an impact on their game time which is currently given by Mikel Arteta.

“Their right-hand side has been a problem, they’ve tried Steven Bergwijn and they’ve tried Lucas Moura out there and it hasn’t quite worked” – Bent said on Spurs’ current forward options.

It would make sense for the 31-year-old to reunite with former manager Jose Mourinho if they can secure him on a decent contract, though the question must be asked as to whether or not Chelsea would sell the winger to one of their main Premier League rivals aiming for the top.

It has been reported that Chelsea are prepared to give Willian a two-year contract extension, though the Brazilian is looking to commit for his long-term future through to 2024. Bent agrees that Chelsea should give him a three-year contract, and sees no issue.

Verdict

If Spurs can sign the proven Premier League winger, he would certainly add a different dynamic to their front three which they have been lacking for years. Willian would complement the left-side of Son Heung-min and Harry Kane through the centre for sure, and this would free up space in the middle for the likes of Moura and Bergwijn.

As Bent said, it would not make sense for the Gunners to sign the Brazilian as they already have the quality up top and he would hinder the youngster’s chances of playing.

Chelsea have made it their mission to sign left-back Ben Chilwell this summer transfer window. 

Frank Lampard has identified his defence as an area of concern heading into the new season. The 42-year-old has highlighted the fact that in order to challenge next campaign, the likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga need to be replaced.

The Spaniard has been a disappointment in between the sticks this term, with Lampard doubting his ability to perform for the team.

The report states ‘extensive negotiations’ have been held between the two clubs and it’s looking positive that the Blues can chisel as much as 37.5% away from the mammoth price tag.
