ويستعد فريق الزمالك لمواجهة نظيره الأهلي، غداً الأحد على ستاد محمد بن زايد في نهائي بطولة كأس السوبر المصري.
وعلم بطولات، أن البرازيلي خوان بيزيرا، لاعب الزمالك، سيغيب عن نهائي السوبر المصري أمام الأهلي، إذ لم يكتمل تعافيه من الإصابة التي يعاني منها، وبالتالي بات خارج حسابات الجهاز الفني للقمة.

وتعرض بيزيرا للإصابة خلال مباراة الزمالك أمام طلائع الجيش في الدوري، واضطر على إثرها الجهاز الفني لتغييره واستبداله.
أما عدي الدباغ، مهاجم الفريق، فقد شارك في تدريبات الزمالك الجماعية، ويتوقف انضمامه لقائمة مباراة القمة وفق قرار الجهاز الفني.
كان الدباغ، قد تعرض للإصابة بشد عضلي خلال مباراة بيراميدز، في الدور نصف النهائي من مسابقة كأس السوبر المصري.
وكان فريق الزمالك قد تأهل إلى نهائي السوبر المصري، عقب الفوز على بيراميدز، في المباراة الماضية بركلات الترجيح.
وعلى الجانب الآخر، تأهل فريق النادي الأهلي للنهائي عقب تخطيه عقبة سيراميكا كليوباترا بهدفين مقابل هدف.
يذكر، أن بطولة كأس السوبر المصري، تقام في دولة الإمارات، خلال الفترة من 6 إلى 9 نوفمبر، بمشاركة الأهلي والزمالك وبيراميدز وسيراميكا كليوباترا.
Crystal Palace are now targeting Brendan Rodgers as a long-term replacement for Oliver Glasner, whose contract is set to expire next summer.
Palace fans will still be holding out hope that Glasner will opt to extend his contract, and there was recently a positive update, with Steve Parish confirming that talks over a new deal have already taken place.
The chairman said: “We’ve had some early conversations. “We would love to keep Oliver, we’re building something. I think for Oliver it’s about the conditions being right.”
“It’s about everything being in a way that he enjoys his work and he finds the conditions favourable to achieve. Oliver wants to win things, he makes no secret of that. That’s what he’s in football for.
“So if we can align those interests then hopefully we can make something happen.”
However, having led the Eagles to their first major trophy in history and a remarkable 19-game unbeaten run, it will be no surprise if the Austrian attracts interest from some top clubs, with Manchester United being touted as a potential destination earlier this month.
With Ruben Amorim turning the corner, having won three games on the bounce, United’s interest may have cooled, but there will no doubt be other clubs keen if Glasner continues to overachieve.
Crystal Palace targeting Rodgers as Glasner replacement
As such, according to a report from The Boot Room, Crystal Palace have now started to make contingency plans for life after Glasner, having identified Rodgers as a target for next summer.
Journalist Graeme Bailey reveals Palace are doing their “due diligence” by identifying potential replacements for their manager at the end of the season, and Rodgers is on their “long list” of targets.
Returning to England is regarded as the Northern Irishman’s “number one priority”, having recently resigned from his post as Celtic manager, amid a poor relationship with the club’s hierarchy.
In an ideal world, Glasner will put pen to paper on a new contract before too long, but if the 51-year-old chooses to seek pastures new, the ex-Celtic boss could be a fantastic replacement, having received high praise from former footballer David Meyler in the past.
The 52-year-old has won 13 trophies across his managerial career, two of which came at Leicester City, guiding the Foxes to an FA Cup triumph in the 2020-21 season, before going on to lift the Community Shield months later.
In his last five managerial roles, the Carnlough-born manager has maintained a solid point per match record, guiding Swansea City to Premier League promotion, with his three-year stint at Liverpool his only unsuccessful period.

Day three’s claim on the “moving day” moniker in a Test match was given extra credence at Edgbaston. While the situation in this second Test at stumps was not all that different to how it began – India ahead by plenty, England ruing various mistakes with ball and then bat – this was as stirring, emotional and mesmerising as this format gets.It began with Mohammed Siraj prising out Joe Root and Ben Stokes with successive deliveries in the second over of the day, and he would close England’s innings with the final three to finish with 6 for 70. This was Siraj’s fourth five-wicket haul, and first on these shores, confirming a first-innings lead of 180 that would eventually swell to 244 by the close, for the loss of just Yashasvi Jaiswal, trapped lbw by Josh Tongue.Related

Root’s demise was a boost for its earliness – nine balls into Friday – and ease; over-balancing to tickle an edge down the leg side through to Rishabh Pant. If that was a little bit of good fortune for Siraj, it was all him for the next delivery, as a snorter – leaping off a short length, scorching the gloves as Stokes attempted to protect his neck – gave England’s Test captain his first golden duck in the format. It was only the second time England’s top six had provided three noughts.It was from that point of disarray, with England trailing by 503 in the 22nd over, that Smith unleashed his astonishing counterattack. Smith was more or less a-run-a-ball up until he locked horns with Prasidh Krishna in the over before the drinks break. With Shubman Gill chasing the match earlier than he needed to, Prasidh was ordered to bounce Smith, who cashed in handsomely with four fours and a six smashed high over fine leg, taking the over for 23.Remarkably, Gill persisted with Prasidh and the short-ball tactic and, as expected, Smith tonked the first ball of this new over for another six over backward square-leg. Further shifts came with consecutive boundaries off spinners Washington Sundar (two fours through cover) and Ravindra Jadeja (a cut through point, then a launch back over the left-arm bowler’s head), bringing Smith in with a shout of taking the record for England’s fastest Test century.He was 84 from 62 deliveries, needing 16 from nine deliveries to take the record outright with the uncertainty of whether Gilbert Jessop achieved the feat from 72 or 76 deliveries. Alas, a slowdown as lunch approached, while sensible, meant that opportunity passed him by.Nevertheless, the century within the session came with three deliveries to go, as Smith lifted Jadeja down the ground and then smeared a 17th boundary through midwicket to take him to three figures. Brook’s ninth Test century came up four overs into the afternoon, with a controlled guide through the cordon – his 13th boundary, off his 137th ball – between gully and second slip off Prasidh. It was Brook’s first century against India, and only his second at home, having fallen for 99 in his first innings of the series at Headingley.By tea, Smith and Brook had eaten further into India’s lead – 232 by this point – but they had started to slow down, taking 101 deliveries to move their partnership to 250 from 200, which had only taken 192. A combination of Siraj, Jadeja and Washington could claim responsibility for prompting that deceleration with wider, more consistent lines. Nitish Kumar Reddy did find Smith’s edge on 121, but Pant could only get fingertips to the chance, allowing the 24-year-old to pass 150 – off 144 balls – for the third time in his first-class career.The 12 runs off the penultimate over of the second session, bowled by Washington, who was reverse swept with ease by Brook, spoke of the ability of both batters to shift back up the gears. Brook was cramping up, needing the physio – and a banana – eight deliveries before he was dismissed. He could score no runs during this period considering he only faced one of these deliveries, the one that dismissed him, prompting Smith to switch gears again. The wicket-taker Akash Deep was lifted gorgeously over long-on and then clouted through long-off for four. But with that second boundary coming at the end of the over, Smith watched on as Siraj trapped Josh Tongue lbw, and put a sickening bouncer on Shoaib Bashir’s temple before castling the No. 11, who had opted to leave a delivery that moved in off the deck.Smith rushed off, cursory waves of his bat for a quite incredible innings that ran India ragged and thrilled a large home support. At various points, you needed the scoreboard to show you who was actually in charge. By the end, it was clear as day, as Rahul drove pristinely and Jaiswal, while he was there for 22 deliveries, smoked 28, punishing both Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse when they dropped short.There was almost a moment of controversy when, having been pinned by Tongue, Jaiswal seemed to run out of time before calling for the review, which was given to him by standing umpire Sharfuddoula, who had given the decision on the field. Stokes immediately stormed over to remonstrate after watching intently as the big screen ticked from 15 to zero before Jaiswal’s signal.In the end, it did not matter, and resulted in India losing a review as three reds were confirmed on the big screen. A small victory for England in a mini session that, not unlike this Test match so far, belongs to India.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank needs to find a way for his team to create more chances on a consistent basis after some struggles in the Premier League of late.
The Lilywhites created a staggering eight ‘big chances’ against Copenhagen in the Champions League last week, per Sofascore, but they have been unable to showcase that level of creativity on the domestic stage.
Spurs created 0.92 xG in their 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday, per Sofascore, after creating 0.10 xG in their defeat to Chelsea at home in their previous top-flight clash.
Per FBref, Tottenham rank 14th in the Premier League for xG, with 11.0 in 11 matches, which shows that they are far away from being one of the most creative teams in the division.
The former Brentford head coach, therefore, needs to adjust his system or work harder with the players on the training pitch to ensure that they start creating more chances.
One team selection move that Frank could make to add more creativity to the team in the short-term could be to unleash Wilson Odobert from the start after his excellent cameo on Saturday.

The France U21 international came on at half-time for Randal Kolo Muani and added directness and excitement to the Tottenham attack with his willingness to take players on with the ball at his feet.

That impressive cameo against the Red Devils came after he started and scored in the 4-0 win over Copenhagen, which means that the forward has registered goal contributions in successive matches for the first time in his Tottenham career.
This shows that the French youngster is finally finding his feet in North London and is building positive momentum with his performances, which is why Frank should reward him with a start against Arsenal on the other side of the international break.
His direct play and invention with the ball at his feet could improve Tottenham’s creativity and go some way to solving some of the issues that they have had, creatively, in the Premier League this season.

Somerset have been deducted four points in the Rothesay County Championship for a breach of ECB Pitch Regulations.The charge pertains to Somerset’s Division One fixture at against Durham in July which saw 35 wickets fall in just five sessions. Lord Ian Botham, Durham’s honorary president, accused his former county of deliberately preparing a playing surface that “reduces the game to a farce”.Match referee Simon Hink subsequently rated the Taunton pitch “below average”, with standing umpires Ian Blackwell and Martin Saggers noting the excessive turn across days one and two. The Pitch Regulations apply to all counties, with regulation 4.1 stating pitches must be prepared to provide “an even contest between bat and ball, and must allow all disciplines in the game to flourish”.Following an investigation by the Cricket Regulator, which included statements from players and coaches of both clubs, the Cricket Discipline Panel (CDP) has handed Somerset a sanction of eight points, of which four are suspended until the close of play of the last day of the 2027 season. The immediate deduction means their season points tally drops to 175, though they remain third in Division One.While conduciveness to spin and the result – Somerset won by five wickets – were deemed aggravating factors, the tribunal acknowledged the club had sought to prepare the best possible pitch, and that the “substandard pitch rating” was their first in the last 24 months.The tribunal also deemed it “inherently unlikely” that Somrerset deliberately prepared a poor surface given the hosts bowled first after winning the toss, exposing themselves to batting last when conditions would have been at their toughest. It also noted the voluntary steps the club has already taken to trial alternative loam to improve its pitches at Taunton, and their co-operation throughout the process.”Whilst we are disappointed by the outcome, we are pleased that the tribunal rejected any suggestion that the Club deliberately sought to produce a substandard wicket,” said Somerset chief executive Jamie Cox in a statement released by the club. “We would also like to thank the CDP for their clarity and transparency throughout the hearing process.”Somerset County Cricket Club will always aspire to produce the best possible pitches which will ensure an enthralling contest between bat and ball.”
